The 絵巻刀 — Emaki Katana draws its identity from the emakimono, the legendary illustrated scrolls of Heian Japan. The saya (scabbard) is lacquered in deep glossy black and decorated with a full-length hand-painted scene of legendary samurai and mythological figures — vivid oranges, crimson reds, and ivory whites — evoking the storytelling tradition of ancient Japanese narrative art.
The tsuka (handle) is wrapped in rich crimson ito over black samegawa, with gold menuki accents that catch the light with every grip. A navy-blue sageo cord completes the look with traditional elegance. The blade is forged from premium T10 steel with a genuine hamon line, offering both functional sharpness and visual authenticity.
Every element of this katana — the story-painted scabbard, the crimson handle, the polished T10 blade — makes it one of the most visually distinctive pieces in any collection. 絵巻刀 — the Blade of the Painted Scroll.
